Bastion’s services vary by jurisdiction. This page covers where Bastion can serve customers: which services are available based on a customer’s location, where off-ramp funds can be sent, and which jurisdictions are restricted entirely. Coverage is actively expanding. If you have a use case in a jurisdiction that is not listed, contact us at sales@bastion.com to evaluate potential support. This page is about eligibility. For integration detail, see:

Service availability by customer location

Off-ramp availability here means who can initiate one. Where the money can land is a different matter, covered in Supported off-ramp payout countries.

United States

Crypto custody

Custody is available across the U.S., with limited state-level licensing exceptions. For customers that need full coverage across all U.S. states, Bastion works with partners and structuring options to address those edge cases. State-level exceptions:
  • Nebraska
  • New York
  • Texas
  • Guam
  • Puerto Rico

Stablecoin issuance

Bastion Platforms Trust Company, LLC is chartered as a limited purpose trust company by the New York State Department of Financial Services to engage in virtual currency business. Its application to issue stablecoins is pending; once approved, stablecoin issuance will be available across the U.S. Contact us at sales@bastion.com if you are interested in issuing your own whitelabel stablecoin.

On-ramp / off-ramp

Fiat on-ramp and off-ramp are available to U.S. customers, except those whose principal address is in New York. The exclusion follows the customer’s principal address, not the payout destination. A New York customer cannot off-ramp to any bank account, domestic or international. Both directions also depend on custody. An on-ramp credits a Bastion-custodied account and an off-ramp debits one, so the custody state exceptions above apply first.

International

If you have a use case in a jurisdiction that is not listed, contact us at sales@bastion.com to evaluate potential support.

Crypto custody

Crypto custody is supported for customers based in the United States and in the following countries through U.S.-issued wallets:
  • Brazil (BR)
  • Colombia (CO)
  • Holy See (VA)
  • Mexico (MX)
  • Peru (PE)
  • United Kingdom (GB)
  • Uruguay (UY)
  • Viet Nam (VN)
  • Zambia (ZM)

Stablecoin issuance

Stablecoin issuance is currently not available outside the United States.

On-ramp / off-ramp

Fiat on-ramp and off-ramp are not available to end users outside the United States. The account holder must be a US-based customer in both directions.

Where off-ramp funds can be sent

An off-ramp always debits a US-based customer’s account, but the money does not have to stay in the United States. Payouts can go to: Payouts cannot be sent to a bank account in a restricted jurisdiction. For the full list of supported destination countries, the currency and payment rail for each, see Supported off-ramp payout countries. On-ramps have no international equivalent. Fiat can only be deposited from a U.S. bank account.

Restricted jurisdictions

Bastion prohibits users in, and services and transactions involving, the following jurisdictions. These are blocked both as customer locations and as payout destinations.
